Cirl Buntings

The Cirl Bunting is the UK's rarest resident farmland bird, and 11% of that population lines in Torbay.

The Cirl Bunting has an olive green rump, a short strong beak, and large feet. The male has a black mask over a yellow head.

At Maidencombe the Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust maintains a grasshopper-friendly field for a food source for the birds.
