Cockington is a small village just to the north of Paington. It is built round a large manor house, and the houses are all of the quaint thatched cottage variety. It is cutesville with a vengence. Take your camera and click like crazy. There are old walls, designer ponds, and views across the lawns. And it is all within walking distance. The Mill restaurant has a working waterwheel. There is a forge where a local farrier still shoes horses, there is a gamekeeping exhibition, cream teas, and a craft centre, together with a Norman church, a village cricket green, and riding stables where you can hire horses.
